A Roman Catholic Charismatic
Covenant Community serving the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex
Mt. Saint Michael Catholic School
The youth of the Christian Community of God’s Delight as well as the students at Mt. St. Michael Catholic School and the children of our extended community throughout the Metroplex are well served by our youth programs. But there is something missing. You. Serving, teaching and leading our youth is the responsibility of the parents, adult volunteers and our Community as a whole. It takes an entire Community to raise a child. Every ministry has needs. We need you and what you have to offer to our youth. If you are unable to give of yourself to our children…our future…then our ministries cannot provide for our youth to the best of their abilities. God calls us to do His work. He calls us all, men and women, young and old, rich and poor, educated and uneducated and gives us everything we need to do the task He calls us to do. If you’re not answering His call, our abilities are diminished.
I’m sure you’ve heard these words before, but maybe not quite this way. “And so my brothers and sisters: ask not what your Community can do for you - ask what you can do for your Community…ask not what our ministries can do for your children – ask what you can do to help raise the children of your Community…Finally, whether you are members of the Christian Community of God’s Delight or members of our extended community, ask of us the same high standards of strength and sacrifice which we ask of you. With history as the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth to serve our God and the youth we love asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth, God’s work must truly be our own.”
As members of the Christian Community of God’s Delight, we believe that our children are our future. Because of that, we have many youth oriented ministries that are under the umbrella of our Youth Ministries Program. Each ministry has a team of adult leaders that are responsible for planning the activities and serving the needs of the youth of that ministry. Our programs benefit the children of Community members, students of Mt. St. Michael Catholic School and friends of our youth who want to participate. For the most part, none of our ministries receives any funding from the Community. The ministry leaders are responsible for raising funds or parents pay fort he activities their children are involved in. What we are lacking is adequate adult help in several of our ministries. We hope to tell you a little about each of the individual ministries that make up our Youth Ministries Program. We need your time, your talent and your treasure, just like your parish and your Community does. What better way to invest in the future of our Community, our Church and our country than to help our youth grow in their faith and learn true moral values?
The Youth Ministry includes Boy Scout Troop 21, Middle School Ministry, High School Ministry, Young Adult Ministry, Camp Jesus, and Matthew Mission. See details on the tabs below.
Also serving our children is the All Saints Party. As an alternative to a Halloween Carnival, we host an All Saints Party for our children and the students of Mt. St. Michael Catholic School. Instead of ghoulish costumes, we encourage the children to dress up as saints, angels, shepherds and other biblical characters. There are games, prizes, food and lots of candy. The party is always held on October 31st.
